Cold Winter Days

Sweeping out the bulk of the seeds from the feeder to find the sunflower seeds, this scrub jay is a welcome friend to the quail. It was 18 degrees the day this picture was taken.

Another snowstorm has descended today, creating white lawns and slushy roads.

Looking a bit romantic, this pair of junkos rest on the pampas grass, waiting their turn at the feeder.

Icy footing for the quail and sparrow as they rummage about for seeds.

Chewing off the hull of a black walnut, this squirrel found a resting spot on the top of the trellis post.

Cool pictures! That squirrel looks nice and fat.
